You are much better off with a 50" plasma. I suggest Panasonic or Pioneer as they are the top two rated brands and deservedly so.

Flat panel LCD's are better for games and computer hookups but lack somewhat in matching plasma picture quality. For an LCD DLP unit, I really just wouldn't bother as they tend to have problems with bulb burnout and picture wash.

This is of course if you don't want to go the projector route.

You should measure it. Its supposed to be 2-6 feet from the ground. I've used it both on top and below. Below worked better but it was set up wrong on the up high because they taped it on the tv with the stand angled down so you couldn't be as far from the tv as your supposed to be. Im gonna get it but I cant tell you which is best yet. But to be honest I would put it wherever it can see you the best.

kinect is not as thin as the wii sensor where u can just pplace it on top of any "skinny" tv..

the most logical approach is place it on the stand where your tv is nicely situated..

as long as there is good enough spacing then kinect will detect your entire body no problem

Kinect for me works best on the stand, but for some if the room is bigger it works on top of the t.v
I think it's usually better on top for big rooms.
Just depends.

Your right generally reading a book is healthier for your eyes. But I am a avid video game fan ever since I was 4 and put a good hour in every day and I never had anything close to a seizure. However if you are extremely tired, sitting to close to the TV, and play in the dark, it is very much possible. You can also ruin your eyes reading in the dark, I believe.

The general rule of thumb, if you overuse something, our bodies will give out the consequences.

It doesn't, ever. It's actually been proven that watching too much TV or Videogames actually doesn't hurt your eyesight either. People who have seizures while playing video games or watching TV have epilepsy, and they go into epileptic seizures caused by certain patterns and colors.

it's the stream of lights, basically what happens is the visual cortex gets overloaded by the *bombarded* of colors, bearing in mind that your eyes deliver messages to your brain ia electrical impulses it is feasible that "too much" can overload your brain and cause a "short" i.e. seizure.
